Would you welcome a Reaper return? Or think they should just let it stay dead? Just impressed I resisted the urge to make some lazy pun about a show named Reaper being resurrected from the dead?
If you want to take over for me get started in the comments section. One of very few shows that made me laugh every episode. Sometimes i wonder how qualified the decision makers for cancelling shows really are…. I have even bought the Dvds, and got a dvd player to play us region films just so I can relive the moments of both two seasons.
Even to this day ,8 years after the show started i still watch this when I go sleep. I love the show and i would love to know whats happens regarding Steve braking Sams hand and then saying God works in weird ways and your not alone. I got chills watching that moment and I just wish it would be bought back so we can see what he meant by this and how does he finally get out of his deal with the devel.
Totally agree. They clearly have a tiny budget, though, meaning there are some rather poor special effects on display. Hulu currently has two episode seasons of Deadbeat. It is comming back for a third. I loved reaper as a kid and have watched both season almost 20 times now. Once i saw deadbeat I got the same rush I had when I watch reaper. Just finished binge-watching the last few episodes of Reaper. Maybe someday there will be a TV-ovie or mini-series to wrap things up.
I really loved the show Reaper. I wish they would bring it back, I was very disappointed that it had been cancelled. I am surprised to see a comment about Reaper from this year!!! It was a roller coaster ride for the fans, it was almost cancelled after the 1st season. At the end of season 2 they started saying it was going to be cancelled again. It was hard to believe because from what I could tell it had a large fan base. It was around the time that season 2 was being released on DVD and I read somewhere that Brett said to show support for a 3rd season by buying season 2 on the release date and emailing a copy of the receipt to the CW execs.
There were also multiple websites set up for instructions on who to email and what to say to show your support and petitions to sign. And even long after they officially announced it was cancelled there were still people protesting trying to get a comeback.
For me I would have loved to see it come back even on another network with a budget cut but only if it had the full cast and they all wanted to do it. It would be crazy to see it comeback after this long but I would definitely watch it. Funny, but not original. That was engaging to me. Maybe Hulu would pick it up like they did The Mindy Project- another great show they were smart to continue without tv contracts.
Online is the way to go. Heck, use the reaper site and embed on your own, even. Ad revenue is all yours then. Forget the TV networks and Bring it back online.
As a result, the CW network has terminated the series after two short seasons. There is a slim chance that Reaper could continue in first-run syndication. ABC Studios, who produces the series, is currently gauging interest.

So many shows get cancelled these days and leave the fans with no conclusion.
Start to lose trust in the networks and become reluctant to try anything new. Of course the flipside is all the producers seem to hope that they can stretch what might be a good idea for a two or three part show into a 10 year run and of course it tanks. Wish when a show was going to be binned they would allow the production 2 or 3 episodes to wrap it up.
I love this show so so much that I only read your first page. I am super happy I found this article. Although I have an OK time forgetting shows that get cancelled without a story end, I do appreciate finding out secrets like this. I still love Reaper. Sock lives! Thanks for doing the interview. Still not sure why this show was canceled when you consider it was on the CW and there are a lot crappier shows on that network.
Gee I loved reaper. It was too hiliarous and it had really a good plot. It is no where near as good as Reaper. I assume Andi would have gotten out of her deal as well? I think you fixed it. Reaper was one of my fave shows of all time. I would LOVE to see them do a movie in the future! So glad I finally know! Was gutted when this show ended, it was the highlight of my week viewing wise and god fairly good ratings here in the UK. Great interview. Thanks for allowing those of us loyal Reaper fans a small bit of closure. Sad that CW canceled the show, but I can see why. A guy with his friends who rids the world of souls with strange powers.
Two brothers ridding the world of supernatural beings. Same premise. How exactly can we stop it? Where will it strike next? And then, the whole heaven vs. Instead, they canceled Reaper. Even so I agree that this character need closure aswell.
Sam and Kyle did not have same problems simply cuz their father only sold their first borns soul. Two sons… two souls. Only needed one soul to close tha deal, ya know. I will never know why the best shows seem to be canceled before their time. Just bring back Reaper! What happened to Sam? Did not look very well. I love kevin probably saves the world. And while ive seen most CW shows i have never heard of Reaper. But i have to say it looks very interesting and im probably going to check it out then rage at its cancellation after binging the entire show.
So yeah. Definitely going to check out Kevin Probably Saves the World! This is the first time I have heard of the show. Reaper was an incredible show and a huge part of me thirsts for a continuation.
