I cant imagine ever needing much more than whats in the film cannister. Thanks, I'll go back and pick up the Coastal grease tomorrow. It was a couple bucks for the tube. There sure is a bunch of AR building going on!

Quoted: There sure is a bunch of AR building going on! No kidding!!!!! Okay, I just bought a tub of this stuff, made by LubriMatic. Is that normal? Nothing on the canister to indicate if it contains graphite or any other additives? The moly grease that you can pick up in a tube at the auto parts store is NOT the same moly past that is commonly used as a anti-gall anti-seize paste.

The grease that you use in a grease gun has a small amount of moly in it and is relatively inexpensive. The moly paste that you want for gun work has just enough grease in it to make it a paste, the rest is all molybdenum disulfide. Dow-Corning makes the stuff that I have been using for the last 20 years. It is very expensive compared to the tube-grease talked about in earlier posts but will last along time.

Hey guys, found this one at brownells, will it work? Quoted: Hey guys, found this one at brownells, will it work? Quoted: It's the same as the anti-seize you can get at any parts store. It's the same as the anti-seize you can get at any parts store No, anti-seize is NOT the same as moly grease.

Is this a no-go? A Molybdenum Disulfide MoS2 lubricant now packaged in 1 oz jar for wear resistance, anti-seizing and anti-galling on cams, bushings, press fit assemblies, and other sliding surfaces. Formulated to have a toothpaste-like consistency, it has a very wide working temperature range with minimal evaporative loss. Thanks to all who have contributed to this thread. It works on the same principle as antiseize.

Oil will not give you this. NGL no. The stuff you want for assembly is made by Dow-Corning and is called Molykote. Not finding what you're looking for? Save molybdenum disulfide powder to get e-mail alerts and updates on your eBay Feed.

Graco is a product- and solution-oriented company, not a grease company, but we do offer a grease for the convenience of our customers. This is a solid-free lithium complex grease, and there is a reason for this. Grease compatibility is an issue because of what can happen when two incompatible greases are introduced to each other. This is important to consider when refilling a reservoir that already contains grease.

Lubrication grease is a mixture of oil and soap or another thickener. The portion of the grease that determines the compatibility is the thickener.

Lithium complex is the thickener that is most compatible with other thickeners. There are only a few other thickeners that are not compatible with lithium complex, when using one of the Graco greases. Ultimately, Graco does not make recommendations for the grease used in a given application because choosing the right grease is really up to the equipment manufacturer and the customer.

This will help to ensure a long, dependable life from Graco industrial lubrication products. Selecting the Proper Grease for a Given Climate. Lubrication Contamination and the Effect on Pin Bushings.
