Can you get ellaone for free

The emergency contraceptive pill Levonelle and ellaOne are both available free of charge. You can get them from most community pharmacies and also from your GP or sexual health clinic. EllaOne is taken as a single tablet. You can order the morning after pill online, or from a number of contraception clinics, pharmacies and GP surgeries.

Levonelle contains levonorgestrel and has to be taken within 72 hours 3 days of unprotected sex. EllaOne contains ulipristal acetate and is licensed to be taken within hours 5 days of unprotected sex.

Both Levonelle and ellaOne are effective only if taken before the release of an egg from the ovary ovulation. Plan B is emergency contraception. It has fewer side effects than many of the over-the-counter pills that are sold at Walmart, and it is supposed to be available to anyone who is 17 or older without a prescription. The only catch is that drug stores keep Plan B behind the pharmacy counter.

EC can be used in the following situations: unprotected intercourse, concerns about possible contraceptive failure, incorrect use of contraceptives, and sexual assault if without contraception coverage. Methods of emergency contraception are the copper-bearing intrauterine devices IUDs and the emergency contraceptive pills ECPs.
